
Mercer Medicine formerly known as Mercer Health Systems has a new name, new look and newly remodeled campus office.
The name change to Mercer Medicine was adopted by the practice plan board in early spring to define its purpose as not only a provider of quality patient care but to also advance the academic mission of the School of Medicine. Mercer Medicine is a multi-specialty physician group practice by which faculty physicians continue to practice medicine in a private clinical setting while at the same time providing the medical students direct exposure to actual patients.
The Macon community may access Mercer Medicine physicians at the following locations: Internal Medicine housed at 707 Pine Street provides services in the area of infectious disease, non-invasive cardiology, nephrology, and pulmonology. Internal Medicine physicians work at the Medical Center of Central Georgia, W.T. Anderson Health Center, Central Georgia Rehab Hospital, Regency Hospital, and other health care facilities in the greater Macon area.
Psychiatry and Behavioral Science services are located at 655 First Street and focuses on general psychiatry, adult and child psychology, clinical social work and marriage and family therapy. The MD’s and PhD’s work at both area hospitals providing treatment and consultative services as well as providing contractual services to local city, county and state government entities.
The Family Medicine physicians are located at the Family Health Center on Eisenhower Parkway. The MD’s not only see patients at the Family Health Center but some also see patients at the Medical Center of Central Georgia and at local nursing homes.
Mercer Medicine administrative staff are located at 1550 College Street, Suite A, on the first floor of the School of Medicine.
